Married | Heather & Logan
We felt we had come full circle when we arrived at this very special wedding of Heather & Logan. What we mean is that our relationship with this family started out with photographing Heather’s senior photos in September 2011.
Since then the family had adopted us and we documented a lot of the big changes in their lives, including the other two daughters weddings, newborn grandbabies and even photographing the family business’ growth into a new building!
As usual, we arrived at the girl’s house together to capture the details, dress and other fun photos of the getting ready. A lot of things are the same as with all of the other girl’s weddings, yet they are improved upon slightly by the succession of planning the parents have put into each of their daughter’s weddings.
Heather had found her wedding dress at Bridal and Formal, and everything fell into place the moment we saw her in it. She and Logan were not to do a first look, which was fine with us as the timing was enough to get some photos after the wedding before sunset.
Without saying it was déjà vu, there was a certain familiarity about the event as we arrived at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection for the wedding ceremony. Pastor Henry Zorn was here and there and everywhere in the church, before finally leading a prayer first with Logan then Heather in their respective rooms. He then grasped Logan by the hand and led him to the sanctuary, which was the official kick-off to the ceremony. Next thing was the processional music for Heather and her dad as they waited for the sanctuary doors to open. The look on Logan’s face was priceless as Heather walked up the aisle to him and Pastor Zorn.
The bubbles drifted lazily in the warm sunny breeze as the guests lined up and practiced blowing through the little hoops. Heather & Logan emerged from the church and headed to the Limo provided by Cincinnati Wedding Services, and after they were loaded up we drove across the street to a little park for our first photo session with the bridal party outside of the church. Heather was bathed in the gorgeous evening sunlight, as she held her flowers, made by Eastgate Flowers & Gifts, and kissed Logan in the park.
With all of the constraints of documentary photos behind us, we were now exuberant as we began to make gorgeous pictures of the couple together before heading to The Newport Aquarium for the reception. After this session we had one more little stop at the Glockenspiel tower at Mainestrasse Village in KY. Then we made it to The Newport Aquarium where DJ Brandon of Hey Mr. DJ made their announcement into the reception. Toasts were made, dancing and celebrations happened along with delicious cake by The Bonbonerie, and we were included in a group photo with DJ Brandon and all the sisters we had celebrated weddings with in the family!
